Company Updates Rail Transport

The IMGS Group has been appointed to manage a bulk cargo loading system for a major rail transport authority in East Africa. The new intermodal railway program has been inaugurated by the local government for the effective movement of products throughout the country. Its key focus on the efficient distribution of foodstuffs to different provinces.

 

The agreement calls for 110,000 tons of cargo to travel on trains, rather than by road on an annual basis. This will make it possible to manage a flow of about 2100 transports per year. Moreover, with an average reduction of Co2 emissions by about 60% (equal to 6,000 tons of CO2 less) compared to road transport and a cut of approximately 6,000 trucks. Thus, ensuring greater road safety, organizational efficiency and more importantly a healthy happy planet!
